Shannon + Scott -101 Centre St

Before we even had a website Shannon & Scott were one of the very first couples to reach out to Rustic Drift (thank you Instagram). In terms of their wedding day concept and design, they had a clear idea of exactly what they were looking for. Our rental items seemed to aligned perfectly with their vision and their venue, 101 Centre Street. 101 Centre Street is a beautifully restored three story Victorian Home nestled in the heart of Beach Haven, NJ on Long Beach Island. The wrap around porch and wonderfully landscaped yard were perfect for cocktail hour. We made sure several special detail items that Shannon + Scott wanted to incorporate into their wedding were clear and visible during cocktail hour for everyone to see. Here's just a little taste of what these details included:

- A spiked lemonade station displayed on our wine barrel bar with a custom chalkboard sign, mason jars, wooden crates and a beautifully moss covered 'Love' sign (which the bride made herself - she's so crafty!).

- A card table displayed on our accent table featuring our 1942 Royal Typewriter (which was my grandparents'), our 9 pane vintage window with every guests name handwritten and some of our vintage suitcases with a custom burlap 'Cards' sign.

- A wine and champagne bar was created on our reclaimed lumber bar cart and greeted guests as they returned from the beach vows.

- The menu was featured on one of our vintage three pane windows. Dinner was served family style so we separated each pane by the type of dish (i.e. Filet Mignon, Grilled Chicken and Halibut). The handlettering was pretty complex on this but well worth it. I was beyond satisfied with the end results (in fact I'm having a hard time erasing it because it still looks so awesome). Also, I can't fail to mention here what a fabulous job was done by the caterer Shore Fire Grille.

- Our wine barrel high tops were filled to the brim with tasty beers during cocktail hour and were perfect for guests congregating on the lawn.

Moving on to the reception details, my very favorite design element of this wedding would probably have to be the candy bar. It looked too good to eat. Red and pink candy overflowed glass jars that were placed on various wooden crates and our newly refinished antique tea cart. The floral touches were completed by Michele Tallent and featured hydrangeas, dahlias and garden roses. The pink and white looked so pretty against the old wooden colored tones. Rustic chic at it's finest. Another custom burlap sign reading "Love Sweet Love" was designed to drape across the whole setup.

The gazebo served as the main bar during the reception. While the couple started cocktail hour with wine, champagne and a canoe full of beer, the reception consisted of two bars: a whiskey bar and a signature drink bar. We created a directional sign on the property to point out all the awesomeness that was going on that day. Additionally we pieced together the Shannon + Scott sign that was front and center on the bar. I can't take credit for the wine cork heart that was incorporated on the sign. That was all the bride (again- ain't she crafty!!).

In front of our sweetheart farm table we also designed a marquee light SV2 (svsquared) sign. Shannon + Scott now both share the same initials. They even had an SV2 logo created and incorporated into everything their wedding weekend (welcome bags, wedding programs, cocktail napkins, etc.) They might not know this but Joel and I also referred to them as SV2 since we first saw the logo ;)

The metal letters were provided by the bride and groom. We threw some blush paint on them, put them on a whitewashed wooden backboard and assembled the lights. As nighttime rolled in, this sign stood out all night long. A perfect example of a love that will last forever.

A special thank you to Shannon + Scott for giving us the creative freedom to help make their wedding day dreams come true. It's no easy task to put all your faith into a brand new company when you're dealing with such an important day in your lives. Thank you for believing in us and our business. This has been an amazing journey for us and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for this opportunity. Love and happiness today, tomorrow and always.
